The spatial dimensions aboard a ship are not always what one would expect – for example, some areas appear unusually large. In contrast, Ford describes a rarely observed feature - smaller connecting passageways. This particular experience began in a large hall aboard a ship: "A small alien tells me to follow him. He points to this entrance and crawls in. I follow him without thinking anything, as if guided by a ghost's hand. When I enter the tunnel, I notice that it is quite narrow, but very long. I guess around 39-49 feet. The passageway is about 10 feet wide and has something like a „pit“ at its side. I see other aliens in there. They seem to me like they're taking a break or spending their free time. The alien in front of me crawls forward on its knees and keeps turning to see how I'm making progress. I have to pull myself forward by my hands because there is not enough room [...]. It's so narrow that I have to tilt my head to get through, but strangely enough I’m not claustrophobic." The passageway led into another very large hall. For Ford, it wasn't the only experience of this kind, and he even believes he no longer feels claustrophobic as a result. Is this some kind of "shortcut" for the little Greys, or are the tunnels connected to some kind of procedure (e.g., for decontamination, „screening“ the body, etc.)?
